Copeland: Peters misleads Greypower
New Zealand First leader Winston Peters is either deliberately or negligently endeavouring to mislead members of Greypower concerning their superannuation entitlements, according to United Future superannuation spokesperson Gordon Copeland.
“People within Greypower tell me that Winston Peters is telling members of Greypower that superannuitants are currently receiving up to $30 per week per married couple less than their “lawful entitlement”. Apparently he does this via a single sheet headed “The Superannuation Deceit”.
“That information is incorrect. Superannuation payments are calculated in accordance with the present law.
“However that does not mean United Future is happy with the present law! We would change the law to ensure that superannuitants are paid more and that’s the real issue which Winston is intent on obscuring. He needs to come clean and tell it to Greypower members like it is,” said Mr Copeland.
