Marian Hobbs welcomes trolley bus progress
Wellington Central MP Marian Hobbs says it's great news the future of Wellington's trolley buses seems assured.
"Progress is being made now that Land Transport New Zealand has agreed to fund its share of the upgrade," Marian Hobbs said.
"I am 100 per cent behind Greater Wellington Regional Council's efforts to keep the trolley bus fleet because it's important that they remain part of Wellington's transport network. They provide significant environmental and health benefits compared with diesel buses and commuters like them.
"I am pleased that Greater Wellington are close to agreeing a final package for the upgrade."
