Greens to deliver Kyoto call to US and Australian missions
Green Co-Leaders Jeanette Fitzsimons and Rod Donald will this afternoon be visiting the US Embassy and the Australian High Commission to deliver letters calling on their governments to ratify the Kyoto Protocol on Climate Change.
'Kyoto' takes effect on Wednesday next week, February 16, following its recent ratification by Russia.
The Co-Leaders will be meeting the High Commissioner, Dr Allan Hawke, at the Australian High Commission and the Deputy Chief of Mission, David Burnett, at the US Embassy.
There will be photo opportunities at the embassies' respective gates. The missions have given permission for the media to be present at that point.
The letter will be available to the media after the second delivery.
