King encourages waste of scarce health dollars
The Minister of Health is encouraging the waste of scarce health dollars, says National Party Health spokesman, Paul Hutchison.
"In Parliament today Annette King incorrectly claimed that universal subsidies were effective, when the evidence is quite clear that targeted subsidies are much more effective," says Dr Hutchison.
"Treasury has also raised concerns about Labour's health funding strategies.
"Labour is determined to go ahead spending hundreds of millions more on rolling out subsidies for 18 to 64-year-olds, when we are clearly in a situation where scarce health dollars should be going to the highest priority.
"Ms King is talking about capping hard-working general practitioner's fees, when she herself is guilty of wasting precious health dollars."
