More smoking guns in Ruatoki Valley

Stephen Franks - Press Releases - Crime & Justice
ACT Justice spokesman Stephen Franks today lodged an additional complaint with the police against any other carriers of firearms during the Ruatoki Valley insult to the Waitangi Tribunal and the flag on 16 January.
"I understand there was at least one other shotgun and perhaps other firearms," Mr Franks said.
"The police must not leave any room for the courts to undermine the message intended by prosecuting Tame Iti. If other offenders are not charged the court might use the Te Kaha excuse to let Mr Iti off because the others got away.
"It is disgraceful that the Labour Government cannot be trusted to make sure the police action is more than a gesture, and an Opposition MP has to be vigilant.
"I hope I am wrong and they have already taken the necessary steps against any other gun wielders," Mr Franks said.
