Shuffling the same sheep solves nothing
Monday 20 Dec 2004 Rodney Hide Press Releases -- Other
ACT Leader Rodney Hide today likened the latest minor Cabinet reshuffle to rearranging the same sheep into different corners of the same paddock.
"The Prime Minister has shuffled the same sheep, with none put on the truck and no new ones added to the gene-pool. The result is we have the same sheep grazing off the same pasture and producing the same dung."
"This Cabinet reshuffle doesn't help one more child to read, any patient waiting to get on a waiting list, or the increasing numbers trapped into the ballooning social welfare system. We were all waiting for a breath of fresh air. Instead, we've been lumped with something decidedly stale."
Mr Hide said the best reshuffle the country could have to really lift New Zealanders' fortunes is a change of government.
"Having the same shepherd shuffle the same sheep will not produce a better product. New Zealand needs a new government with fresh ideas and plans to deliver better outcomes for everyone," said Mr Hide.
