Appointment of Chief High Court judge
Attorney-General Margaret Wilson today announced the appointment of the Honourable Justice Anthony Penrose Randerson as Chief High Court Judge.
Justice Randerson graduated from Auckland University with an LLB Honours in 1972 and practised with Wallace McLean Bawden & Partners, which later became Kensington Swan. He commenced practice as a barrister sole in 1989 and was appointed a Queen’s Counsel in 1996.
Justice Randerson was appointed to the High Court in 1997. He has also sat from time to time in the Divisional Courts of the Court of Appeal.
His appointment as Chief High Court Judge takes effect immediately.
