Greens support Wilson for Speaker
Green Co-Leader Rod Donald says his Caucus unanimously supports Margaret Wilson to be Parliament's Speaker when Jonathan Hunt retires.
"Margaret will bring to the position a sharp legal mind, a dry sense of humour and a strong commitment to good Parliamentary process," said Mr Donald.
"We hope her appointment marks the end of the old boys club and the beginning of a significant improvement in behaviour in the debating chamber.
"The voting and tax-paying public certainly expect politicians to focus our debates on the substance of the issues before us and not to indulge in personality squabbles," Mr Donald said.
