Working Kiwis have earned tax cuts now

Rodney Hide - Press Releases - Economy
ACT Leader Rodney Hide does not accept the National Party's "slowly but consistently" message on tax cuts announced today.
"The perfect time for across-the-board tax cuts is now. I am disappointed the National Party hasn't committed to giving increasing-squeezed Kiwis households an immediate boost.
"At the very least National should have today dropped its support for Helen Clark's 39-cent envy tax. ACT is committed to reversing the 39-cent rate before lunchtime!
"The Government is awash with cash, yet National is taking a no-guarantees wait-and-see approach. That's not good enough. Kiwis are sick of working harder for less.
"2005 isn't soon enough, let alone 2010 or whenever National gets around to giving every hardworking Kiwi a well overdue bonus."
Mr Hide said this month's Crown financial statement released today shows that for the 2004/05 financial year the country's tracking for another $7 billion plus surplus.
"It is becoming increasingly clear that if Kiwis want a real tax cut and quickly, ACT must be part of the next government.
"ACT's position is non negotiable: A tax cut for every worker and now"!
