National selects Mark Blumsky in Wellington Central
Mark Blumsky has been selected unopposed as the National Party candidate for Wellington Central.
"We're absolutely delighted to have a candidate of such calibre to take the fight to Marian Hobbs in a seat that National will win," says National Party Wellington Central electorate chair Patricia Morrison.
"Wellington needs a strong National voice in Parliament. Labour has a Minister for Auckland - but its Wellington MPs are all but invisible.
"We have no doubt Mark Blumsky will change that," says Mrs Morrison.
"As a former Wellington mayor, Mark was responsible for driving a number of vibrant lifestyle initiatives in the central city and we think that's the sort of innovative leadership that the capital deserves in the Beehive.
"Mark is a dedicated Wellingtonian, and I believe that with such an outstanding candidate we will return Wellington Central to the National Party with a much greater share of the Party vote.
"Planning for the Wellington Central election campaign is already well under way," says Mrs Morrison.
