Turner: Greens more interested in plants than people
The Greens have sold their supporters down the river with their support helping pass the Human Assisted Reproductive Technology Bill, which includes allowing for research into genetic modification of people, into law last night, United Future’s Judy Turner said today.
“Basically, we have the Greens giving a green light to the possibility of genetic modification research on human beings - and that is anathema to the true Green and most of the rest of the population.
“The Greens put up more of a protest over plants than they do over people. Try and tamper with a spud and you’ll have their rent-a-mob mentality all over it like a rash. Look at tampering with human life itself and they vote for it.
“The Greens have completely sold out on one of their core beliefs in supporting this Bill. They have also further dented what little credibility they had left after their blind allegiance to promoting drugs and the like.
“Stopping GM was apparently their bottom line - unless they can slip a sly one through like last night
“I look forward to hearing what their new bottom line is,” Mrs Turner said.
