New facilities at Waihola District School
New facilities will be provided at Waihola District School in Otago with funding announced by Education Minister Trevor Mallard today.
"The government is providing additional funding of $205,000 to build additional facilities at Waihola District School," Trevor Mallard said.
"Waihola School's roll has grown as a result of the recent review of schooling on the Taieri and this has been the trigger for this additional funding."
"I am particularly delighted that one of the smallest and most rural schools involved in this network review is now able to share in the benefits of enhanced property funding, as have schools on the Taieri and in Mosgiel."
"The additional funding will allow Waihola District School to have a range of modern and up to date facilities appropriate to its size and roll." "The school is hoping to use the money to build a multi-purpose space that will include a library and accommodate a variety of school activities from dance and drama to information and communication technologies," Trevor Mallard said.
