Green Co-leader to help launch Zaoui book
Green Party Co-leader Rod Donald will make a speech tonight at the book-launch of I Almost Forgot About the Moon, a major investigation into the disinformation campaign against Ahmed Zaoui.
"I have had the pleasure of meeting Ahmed Zaoui in person," said Rod Donald. "Unhappily, it was in the confines of the prison he has been held in for the past 21 months.
"Ahmed Zaoui is guilty of nothing more than being a democratically-elected MP who sort sanctuary in a country he thought embraced human rights. The revelations in this book intensify the pressure on the Government to let Zaoui go free and be reunited with his family."
I Almost Forgot About the Moon by Selwyn Manning, Yasmine Ryan and Katie Small.
Place: Western Springs Garden Hall - 956 Great North Road, Western Springs Auckland (opposite Western Springs Lake, MOTAT and the Auckland Zoo). Time: 6:30pm Tuesday 5th October.
