Peters Issues Brash A Challenge To Debate Him On His Treaty Policy
“If Mr Brash seriously believes his speech at Owera stacks up against the policy New Zealand First released on 29 September addressing the Treaty of Waitangi, its so called ‘principles’ and the agencies associated with resolving historical claims, then I challenge him to debate it with me, says the Rt Hon Winston Peters
“I suggest he could have his friend Mr Holmes organise a time in the near future. I’ll bring my policy and he can bring his borrowed speech and we will let the people of New Zealand decide who the real leader of the opposition is.
“But if he is too afraid to front up on television for a debate, then any forum anywhere is fine with me, given that we see so little of him in the House.
“Its time to put up or shut up Mr Brash – if you have the courage I am more than ready to debate you, and its time New Zealanders saw for themselves just what you have to offer”, said Mr Peters
