NZ First Welcomes Farmers’ Views
New Zealand First has welcomed Federated Farmers support for the Crown ownership of the Foreshore and Seabed and protection for customary rights of the Maori.
Justice spokesperson Dail Jones said the submission raised some issues concerning the Department of Conservation and some points involving the Resource Management Act.
“We will be working on fine tuning of these matters and overall we are pleased that Federated Farmers view is similar to that of New Zealand First.
“We insisted that there should be one rule for all and that could only be achieved by full and beneficial Crown ownership, and the protection of customary rights – in other words a fair system for everybody,” said Mr Jones.
