Labour Stalling Electricity Reforms, Says Shirley
Monday 23 Aug 2004 Ken Shirley Press Releases -- Energy
ACT New Zealand Energy Spokesman Ken Shirley today accused the Labour Government of stalling New Zealand's electricity reforms with a dangerous slide back to State domination.
Speaking as a panellist at the NGC lecture series, Mr Shirley made the observation that State Owned Enterprises now dominate the sector, with private investment being squeezed progressively from the market.
To break the gridlock, Mr Shirley outlined the need for more privatisation, more market and less government.
