ACT New Zealand Leader Rodney Hide today expressed disappointment with the Court of Appeal's decision not to uphold the High Court's judgement that ACT is entitled to request that Speaker Jonathan Hunt declare Donna Awatere Huata's Parliamentary seat vacant.
"I am disappointed with the ruling. Taxpayers now must continue to foot the bill for a non-functioning MP. They are missing out on the benefit of a ninth ACT MP.
"I will be discussing the judgement with my Caucus and the ACT Board before deciding on any further action," Mr Hide said.
