Employment Court Fees To Go Up?
New Zealand First courts spokesperson Dail Jones has asked the Courts Minister Rick Barker if he intends increasing Employment Court fees now that he has learned that this court does charge them.
Mr Jones was referring to Mr Barker’s reported statement that “ the Employment Court has never had fees”.
“Obviously only the Minister’s ignorance has protected the Employment Court so far - an ignorance which is surprising because the Minister used to be a trade union official.
“Now that I have brought to Mr Barker’s attention the fact that the Employment Court has fees as set out in the Employment Court Regulations 2000, SR 2000/250, will he bring his union mates into his web of ever increasing charges?” asked Mr Jones.
