Alexander: Swain draws the line at commonsense and accepts no Corrections!
"Corrections Minister Paul Swain proves that, like super glue he will stick to outdated ideologies no matter how
dim-witted they may be," United Future's Marc Alexander said.
"Similar to an obstinate pup and toilet trained by the Labour party ideologues, the Minister seems incapable of doing
the business at hand; namely, to realise the privately managed Auckland Remand Prison has provided the highest standards
of inmate management and lowered the costs on behalf of the taxpayers. An achievement which puts to shame the
alternative state managed facilities."
"The dilema for Labour is that it put in place a policy against private management of prisons before there were any. In
other words the ideological mantra was cemented into principle before they could assess just how good they could be.
And, unlike the Labour party in Britain, which is very comfortable with the idea of putting the interests of law-abiding
taxpayers ahead of expensive beliefs, our Labour government is clearly incapable of seeing the commonsense lying beyond
the dogma."
"It is nothing short of a flat earth policy, not at all inconvenienced by truth; but rather, maintained and run up the
flagpole of lunacy!"
"The Minister may wish to remain oblivious to reality - but he shouldn't expect the good people of New Zealand to be as
gullible," Mr Alexander said.
