PBRF Contains Hidden Race-based Funding
ACT New Zealand Tertiary Education Spokesman Deborah Coddington today applauded the Tertiary Education Commission's tertiary league table, and welcomed the competition it introduces, but noted it was still askew.
"One component of the funding allocation is based on the number of completed degrees a university attains. However, for every degree completed by a Maori or Pacific Island student, the university gets a further $145.
"This shows Labour, despite its spin, is still implementing its `closing the gaps' policies and promoting race-based funding," Miss Coddington said.
