Turner: Defending CYFS a bit Rich
Katherine Rich's opposition to United Future's proposal to restructure CYFS is typical rip-it-down-and-build-nothing National, United Future family affairs spokeswoman Judy Turner said today.
"She has not missed a chance to bag CYFS for months now, and yet she's come up with absolutely nothing. Where is National's solution?" Mrs Turner asked.
"While she and Ruth Dyson are calling each other names over the number of unallocated cases, United Future's proposal would actually address the 99% of those cases deemed to be less urgent. "It's all very well to ask written questions about the number of CYFS cases and then feed the answers to the media, but if she took a moment to read what's happening in Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom, she might realise restructuring CYFS along the lines we suggest is the way forward."
"The question is can a constructive contribution win out over political ambition?"
Ends.
