74 New Constables Graduate Today

North Island gains 61 new constables, South Island 13
Of the 74 new constables graduating today from Wing 216 at the Porirua Police College, 61 are bound for the North Island and 13 are headed for police districts in the South Island.
Police Minister George Hawkins says of those posted to the North Island, 40 will go to the three Auckland policing districts, nine to other North Island Districts and 12 to the Wellington District.
The following police stations will receive new constables from Wing 216: Kaikohe will receive 1 new constable Auckland Central 6 Takapuna 10 Avondale 5 Otahuhu 4 Papakura 4 Manurewa 4 Howick 3 Henderson 1 Newmarket 1 Downtown Auckland 1 Rotorua 2 Taumaranui 1 Tauranga 3 Napier 1 Taupo 1 Masterton 2 Upper Hutt 1 TAG Porirua 1 Wellington Central 8 Christchurch 9 Timaru 1 Dunedin 1 Invercargill 3. The Sir Tipene O'Regan Wing 216 comprises 50 males and 24 females ranging in age from 18 to 48 years.
