Labour Making Life A Royal Bore

Labour Making Life A Royal Bore
ACT New Zealand Youth Affairs Spokesman Heather Roy today wondered whether Prince Edward had any qualms about presenting an award from which his father's title had been unceremoniously dumped.
"My son has recently completed his silver Duke of Edinburgh award - whoops, I forgot, under Prime Minister Helen Clark's creeping republicanism it is now the Young New Zealanders' Challenge," Mrs Roy said.
"Not that it really matters; my son didn't realise it had changed - I suspect few people have. I also wonder if people realise Miss Clark appears to be laying the groundwork to become New Zealand's first ever President, should her UN job prospects fall through.
"How long it will take before Labour effectively severs all our ties with the UK? We've already lost the Privy Council, Royal Honours have been replaced by New Zealand honours - which no one understands - and our Prime Minister won't say grace with the Queen.
"I'm looking forward to my son completing his gold Duke of Edinburgh award, and it is my fervent hope that Labour's politically correct agenda will not prevent him from receiving it from a Knight of the Realm - or perhaps even another of the Duke's sons," Mrs Roy said.
