Parole Crime Appalling Says Mark
New Zealand First law and order spokesperson Ron Mark is calling on the Government to stop endangering the lives of New
Zealanders by allowing the justice and corrections systems to release dangerous criminals on parole.
This follows the arrest of a man who allegedly sexually attacked a woman only weeks after being freed on parole and the
recall of convicted murderer Anthony Roma who also reoffended only months after being paroled.
“This Government allows the liberty of prisoners but forgets to protect law abiding New Zealanders?
“Citizens pay taxes for protection from dangerous criminals and do not expect offenders to be let out after only serving
part of their sentence.” Mr Mark said.
“This latest incident is just one of a long list of shame that this Government should be addressing, but it will not
take affirmative action as it would conflict with their liberal policy towards prisoners.
“Every time a dangerous criminal is released on parole a new victim is created and I am left wondering how many wake up
calls the Government needs before it starts protecting New Zealanders,” concluded Mr Mark
