Ironman MP set for 22nd Coast to Coast
Green MP Mike Ward will participate in the 22nd Coast to Coast event, starting tomorrow (February 6) at Kumara on the South Island's West Coast.
Mr Ward, a first-term MP, has raced in every Coast to Coast event, and is the only person to have completed all but one 'Longest Day' races. This year will be the 61 year-old's second two-day event.
The Coast to Coast features running, kayaking and cycling stages traversing the Southern Alps from Kumara to Sumner Beach in Christchurch.
Mike Ward is a firm supporter of multi-sport events and ran New Zealand's longest-running event in Nelson for many years. In parliament he is an advocate for positive aging and for fit, healthy and active lifestyles.
