Green MP moves to Dunedin
Green MP Metiria Turei is moving southwards this weekend, into her new home in Caversham, Dunedin.
Citing the appeal of the laid-back lifestyle and more accommodating populace, Ms Turei is moving from Auckland, her home for several years.
Ms Turei is the Green Party Spokesperson for Education, Ethnic Affairs, Immigration, Justice, Maori Affairs and Pacific Island Affairs.
Green Co-Leader Rod Donald said that the time had come for Dunedin to have its own MP, as Ms Turei would be taking over from him as spokesperson for the city and region. "Dunedin deserves its' own Random Trollop," declared Mr. Donald.
Ms Turei has been a long-time member of the Random Trollops, an anarcho-feminist performance troupe.
