Mrs Huata Must Resign
ACT Leader Richard Prebble said he believes it is wrong that Donna Awatere-Huata can go on collecting her pay as a Member of Parliament purely because of a court injunction.
"The ACT caucus has voted to expel Mrs Huata from Parliament," Mr Prebble said today.
"I have written the letter to the Speaker to trigger her expulsion. I cannot deliver the letter because of the court injunction.
"The ACT voters voted for ACT to have nine MPs not eight.
"I have received overwhelming support not just for ACT voters but also the public for my stand that Mrs Huata should be expelled from parliament.
"Mrs Huata should do the honourable thing and resign," said Mr Prebble.
