Taxpayers Funding Foreigners’ Children At New Zealand Early Childhood Institutions
“It is the policy of this government to fully fund the early childhood education of children of non-resident, foreign parents,’ claims New Zealand First education spokesperson, Brian Donnelly.
“The matter was brought to our attention by a concerned parent whose child was placed on a waiting list whilst he knew of a couple on a three month holiday visa who had gained immediate enrolment for their child.
“We were flabbergasted to find out that this was the government’s current policy.
“Taxpayer funded early childhood places should be for New Zealanders’ children, not for the children of foreigners here on holiday,”said Mr Donnelly.
