Launch of 2002 National Children’s Nutrition Survey
Health Minister Annette King will launch the findings of the 2002 National Children’s Nutrition Survey in Dunedin at 10.30am tomorrow, Friday, November 7, 2003.
Ms King says the New Zealand Food: New Zealand Children report “is the most important and comprehensive piece of evidence we have yet of the state of our children’s health, and it will influence policy development for many years. The report poses a challenge to all parts of New Zealand society to encourage children to make wise choices about their health.”
The survey was funded by the Ministry of Health, and more than 3000 children, aged from 5 to 14, were interviewed by Auckland, Massey and Otago University researchers on food and nutrient intakes, eating patterns, levels of physical activity, dental and nutrition-related clinical measures.
Event; Launch of 2002 National Children’s Nutrition Survey.
Venue: Dunedin Art Gallery, Octagon, Dunedin.
Time: 10.30am, Friday, 7 November, 2003.
