Sue Kedgley: Cereal Killer
Friday 17 Oct 2003 Heather Roy Press Releases -- Health
Green MP Sue Kedgley's `Children's Food Awards' shows, yet again, the contempt for science that has become the Green
Party's trademark, ACT New Zealand Health Spokesman Heather Roy said today.
"No good scientific analysis for the Greens - the judges were a panel of parents who, while knowledgeable in such
matters, are not scientific experts.
"If people want a proper analysis of breakfast cereals, they should view the July 2003 issue of `Consumer Magazine',
which conducted and published a complete breakdown of the nutritional value of 181 cereals.
"Kellogg's, however, must be delighted at being singled out for its Froot Loops breakfast cereal - everyone knows there
is no such thing as bad publicity.
"I would have thought that the Greens would feel a certain affinity for Froot Loops - especially the Green ones," Mrs
Roy said.
