Nandor, Anderton square off for cannabis debate
Green MP Nandor Tanczos will debate Progressive Party leader and Wigram MP Jim Anderton this Tuesday evening, October 21.
The debate, 'Should cannabis be decriminalised', will be held at 7.30pm at the St Peters Parish Centre, 11 Fisher Avenue, Beckenham.
Jim Anderton took up Nandor's challenge to debate the cannabis issue after an offer to debate Peter Dunne in his own electorate of Ohariu-Belmont was refused because Nandor would "lower the house values".
"I look forward to debating Mr Anderton on his own turf," said Nandor, the Green spokesperson for Cannabis Law Reform. "At least the people of Wigram have an MP willing to front up and talk about an issue of great importance.
"Jim Anderton and I agree on some drug policy issues, such as banning alcohol advertising on television and radio, although we disagree on others. This will be a lively and interesting debate."
