Education mission to central Europe
Education Minister Trevor Mallard will leave tomorrow on an education mission to central Europe, accompanied by a delegation of education sector representatives.
Trevor Mallard will attend the 15th Commonwealth Education Ministers' conference in Edinburgh the following week.
The education mission encompasses Prague, Budapest, Warsaw, Brussels and will focus on broadening international relations and developing New Zealand's export education industry. It will include discussions on education reform in higher education, including New Zealand's education reforms.
The delegation will meet with education ministers and senior officials and visit several universities, research institutes and specialist schools.
The New Zealand delegation includes officials from the Ministry of Education, the New Zealand Qualifications Authority, the export education industry body Education New Zealand, universities and other sector representatives.
Trevor Mallard will then meet UK education sector representatives in London.
