Dunne: Welcome to the game, Bill
Bill English's Johnny-come-lately views on taking a new look at our national day are nonetheless welcome, United Future leader Peter Dunne said today.
Mr Dunne, who's Aotearoa New Zealand Day Bill went before Parliament three years ago, said it was good to see Mr English belatedly addressing the issue of a national day for all New Zealanders, even if it was only off the back of the views of eminent historian Michael King.
"If Bill keeps this up, he'll be Cabinet material," Mr Dunne said.
