Dunne diverting attention from his failure

Dunne diverting attention from his failure to say if he will back Clark-led or Brash-led coalition
Peter Dunne doesn't want to say if his party will support a Labour-led or National-led coalition government after the next election, Progressive Party deputy leader, Matt Robson, said today.
"That is the explanation for his apparently cheeky comments today about how United Future is going to lead the next government," Matt Robson added.
Matt Robson was responding to media requests for his views as to why Peter Dunne had been prepared to make such a fool of himself over the question of future prime ministers in New Zealand.
"The United Future Party and New Zealand First, both former coalition partners in National-led governments, are proud to say they are open to installing a National-ACT government after the 2005 election.
"United Future spokespeople over the past seven weeks consistently outlined policy positions of the Right. It is clear to everyone that means United Future would choose a Don Brash-led or Bill English-led National-ACT government over the Labour-Progressive coalition after the 2005 election if ever United Future had the power to actually choose," Matt Robson said.
"United Future is a center right party but it hasn't got the courtesy to tell voters before the next election whether it would support Helen Clark or Don Brash as prime minister – they don't trust voters to divulge that sort of democratic decision-making to the people of this country," he said.
