Save Cadenza!
ACT New Zealand Broadcasting Spokesman Deborah Coddington today expressed dismay over Radio New Zealand's decision to can classic music programme Cadenza from its National Radio weekday line-up.
""I am writing to Broadcasting Minister Steve Maharey and RNZ chief executive Sharon Crosbie, pleading with them to urgently reconsider their bizarre decision to scrap one of the station's most desirable programmes," Miss Coddington said.
"RNZ has described Cadenza as offering `some thoughtful, pleasant background for your afternoons and to enhance awareness of the classics'.
"Listeners will be aggrieved and mortified to learn that the only politically unbiased programme on state radio has been consigned to the scrap heap. It is the only shining light in an otherwise dark and gloomy schedule," Miss Coddington said
