Congratulations Golden Ferns
The National Party's congratulating New Zealand's 'Golden Ferns' after their historic win at the Netball World Champs in Jamaica.
"They were tough, they were determined and they were inspirational," says National Party Leader Bill English.
"It feels like it has been a long time coming for the netballers, we always knew they were the best in the world - now they have the silverware to prove it.
"It's refreshing to see a team made up of people from many different backgrounds, ethnicities and nationalities playing together for a common cause.
"And when we play together, as a team, it shows what we can achieve," says Mr English.
"All we need now is for the All Blacks to continue the same sort of stunning form that saw them dismantle the Springboks at the weekend, and Kiwi couch potatoes will have nothing to complain about.
"Nothing except politics and politicians of course," Mr English says.
