Secrecy on golden handshakes
Annette King has failed in her promise of no golden handshakes in the health sector with the payout to Graeme Edmond of the Auckland District Health Board, says National Associate Health Spokesperson Judith Collins.
"The secrecy around Graeme Edmond's resignation and his subsequent payout is the very thing this Minister claimed she would stamp out. "It is no wonder Annette King won't comment on this case because it goes completely against her big promise of no golden handshakes. There's a payout here and she's washing her hands of it.
"What is the Minister going to do about this payout since she claimed in 2001 that she was "screwing that back into a public service approach"? Ms Collins said.
