Dunne stunned by Tanczos's hypocrisy
United Future leader, Peter Dunne, said today he was stunned by the hypocrisy and effrontery of Green MP Nandor Tanczos
in his latest endeavour to promote the illegal activity of cannabis use.
"Mr Tanczos is well-known for his double standards in accepting money from the taxpayer for being a Parliamentary
lawmaker while at the same time openly boasting that he breaks the laws against dope smoking," said Mr Dunne.
"Now we find that a company of which Mr Tanczos is a director is being investigated by the Customs Service for allegedly
importing large quantities of cannabis. And Mr Tanczos has the nerve to seek support from his Parliamentary colleagues
in rushing through a new law that would make such activities legal.
"This is a clear conflict of interest and a disgraceful abuse of his position by Mr Tanczos, who if he had any shred of
honour left would immediately resign from Parliament.
"Failing that, his party should demand that he leave immediately on the grounds that he is unfit to discharge his duties
as a Parliamentarian," said Mr Dunne.
