New Police Strategy To Be Released
New Zealand First will launch a major new law and order initiative this week.
Leader Rt Hon Winston Peters and law and order spokesperson Ron Mark will announce the strategy at a press conference at:
11am Friday 30 May 2003 at the Calder Mackay 3 Room, The Heritage Hotel, 11 Wyndham Street, Auckland.
Mr Peters said that the country had been hit with an epidemic of both local and imported crime and it was time for law abiding New Zealanders to fight back.
“The restoration of law and order was one of our three election pledges. We will release our plan for stemming the crime wave and clearing up the backlog of unsolved cases.
“The safety and security of people should be the first priority of any elected government. Sadly, in New Zealand the rights of ordinary people are swamped by the present Government’s tolerance of offending.
“New Zealand First’s plan will restore safety in homes and on the streets,” pledged Mr Peters.
