Dunne: Green lunacy at work again
Green Party knee-jerk criticism of the Government's decision to support an international case challenging the five-year European ban on GM foods was typical Green lunacy, United Future leader Peter Dunne said today.
"This is the usual one-dimensional, single-issue approach the Greens take to everything," Mr Dunne said.
"There are very substantial issues of trade and the way forward for the world with GM and food technology, and the Greens just slam their fists - no negotiation, nothing.
"We fully support the Government view that trade should be based on transparency and sound science," he said.
New Zealand is a third party to a lawsuit being taken by the United States through the World Trade Organisation (WTO) in a bid to overturn the ban.
