Adams mourns Possum's passing
United Future MP and long-time rally driver Paul Adams today mourned the death of his friend and motorsport colleague, Possum Bourne.
"Possum and I competed against each other in rallies both here and overseas. When I first knew him he drove milk tankers but he had a dream, he had a vision of becoming a world class rally driver and he achieved it.
"We worked together on developing a pacenote system for New Zealand rallies and I often drove his gravel car for him overseas.
"People say New Zealand doesn't have many heroes, but Possum certainly was one. He never lost his enthusiasm for people, motorsport and his family.
"I deeply regret the loss to New Zealand of one of its greatest ambassadors and I extend all my sympathy to his wife Peggy and his family," said Mr Adams.
