Dunne seeks renewed support for Transmission Gully project
Ohariu-Belmont MP and United Future leader, Peter Dunne, is hoping today's Wellington Regional Transport Forum will reconfirm support for building the Transmission Gully motorway.
The Forum will see about 80 people gather at the Wellington Town Hall this afternoon to discuss transport priorities for the Wellington region and Mr Dunne wants the Forum to pressure Transit NZ into lifting the Gully project higher on its list of national priorities.
"It's essential that the region present a unified voice on this issue to Transit and central government so that Wellington's continued economic growth is not strangled by the lack of an alternative land route out of the nation's capital.
"Today's Forum is a golden chance to send that unequivocal message," he said.
