United Future seeks Iraq debate
United Future New Zealand leader, Peter Dunne, today wrote to the Speaker of Parliament seeking an urgent Parliamentary debate tomorrow on the crisis in Iraq.
Mr Dunne bases his call on the statement from US President George Bush today saying the opportunity for a diplomatic solution would end Monday (i.e. Tuesday, NZ time).
"Saddam Hussein has responded with a threat to take the conflict to the entire globe, which has serious implications for New Zealand's foreign policy and the security and well-being of New Zealanders," said Mr Dunne.
