Dunne urges consistency on the Greens
United Future leader, Peter Dunne, today called on the Green Party's MP's to behave consistently when opposing policies
they dislike.
"Today the Greens will boycott the State luncheon for Australian Prime Minister, John Howard, and instead will
demonstrate noisily outside Parliament for the right of Saddam Hussein to murder and oppress all Iraqis," he said.
"This boycott will no doubt lift the intellectual level of the lunch table conversation and I urge the Greens to
boycott other matters they don't want.
"For example, the Greens hate science, so they could boycott all discussions of genetic modification, thus freeing them
to intensify their campaign against the evils of dihydrogen monoxide.
"Since the Greens don't want to see any international trade, they could boycott those discussions which could then
proceed in an intelligent fashion without distraction.
"Ultimately, since the Greens say they dislike the processes of Parliament, they should boycott the institution
entirely, bringing some much-needed commonsense to the deliberations of the House and much relief to the voters of New
Zealand," said Mr Dunne.
