Act dragging the chain on dog law review
The Green Party is very disappointed that Act has again refused to allow prompt action on legislation to control dangerous dogs, Green Party Co-Leader Jeanette Fitzsimons said today.
The Act Party today refused to agree to the bill going to the government administration select committee, which could have dealt with it immediately. Instead they have forced it to go to the local government and environment select committee, which has the fullest agenda of any select committee, Ms Fitzsimons said.
"Act's dragging of the chain seems designed to prevent progress on this important issue. As chair of the local government and environment select committee, I will do my best to create the opportunities for the public to have their say as soon as possible."
