ACT New Zealand Rural Affairs Spokesman Gerry Eckhoff today suggested that Rural Affairs Minister Jim Sutton pay a visit to the country's leading agricultural website, www.Fencepost.com ( http://www.fencepost.com/) .
"This site should be at the top of Mr Sutton's internet browsing list - especially as the site's latest poll shows that more than 91 percent of rural people oppose increased access to private land," Mr Eckhoff said.
"How much public opinion is needed by this Minister? He also needs to be informed that 87 percent believe the Kyoto Protocol signing was a bad move.
"Who, then, is Jim Sutton representing in rural New Zealand? It surely is not the farming community.
"The Minister has never once stood for rural New Zealand against his socialist comrades. Hand wringing rarely achieves much, whereas raising your hand in protest can, said Mr Eckhoff.
