Painted Apple Moth response
A legal opinion related to the painted apple moth eradication programme would be considered carefully, Acting Biosecurity Minister Marian Hobbs said today.
Ms Hobbs said comprehensive advice had been obtained by the government before the decision was taken to proceed with the eradication programme.
"The information contained in Sir Geoffrey Palmer's paper was drawn largely from government documents that have been previously released," Ms Hobbs said.
"The government is satisfied that the issues raised have been canvassed previously.”
