In response to intense media interest, ACT New Zealand is circulating the following media statement on behalf of Kenneth Wang, tenth on the Party List.
Media Release - Kenneth Wang
Mr Wang, ranked number ten on ACT New Zealand's Party List, confirmed today that he would serve as an ACT MP if required.
"Of course this is not the way I wanted to become a member of parliament but it has been my understanding since the election that it is my responsibility to serve when required.
"If called upon, I look forward to fighting for the ACT tenets of freedom, choice and personal responsibility for every New Zealander.
"I am in no way qualified or interested in commenting on the situation concerning Donna Awatere Huata.
"It is completely inappropriate for me to make any further statement at this time. Until such time as I may be called upon, I will be attending to business commitments. I ask the media to respect my decision not to comment further at this stage," Mr Wang said.
