Putting ACC under the spotlight
National is welcoming the decision by the Auditor General’s office to investigate case management by the Accident Compensation Corporation.
“This has come about after continued pressure from many sources, including National which has proposed a investigation into the case management of long-term claimants, focussing particularly on best practise and quality control,” says ACC spokesman, Dr Paul Hutchison.
“The Auditor General’s review will involve two fulltime officers until the report is complete.
“The ACC Minister’s had three years to get her house in order, but she hasn’t managed it. The fact that ACC complaints have more than doubled in the last year proves this,” says Dr Hutchison.
