Conciliator Not Fit For The Job
NZ First leader Rt Hon Winston Peters said today that Joris De Bres’ United Nations Day speech was an absolute outrage.
“He has proved yet again that he is not fit to hold this office.
“Mr De Bres is nothing more than a puppet for this Government and is obviously preparing New Zealanders for a flood of racially based legislation.
“He has gone too far this time. Mr De Bres’ job is to promote racial harmony in New Zealand not incite racial hatred.
“Why does Mr De Bres feel it is necessary to go back in history and make accusations against European settlers? Does he think this will bring about racial harmony or is he deliberately trying to get peoples’ blood boiling?
“Clearly he does not know what his role is therefore he should not be in such an important position.
“Maori do not need an advocate like Joris De Bres. They can thank God that the British colonised New Zealand and not another nation with a sorry record in Africa and Asia.
“The last thing Maori need is a hand wringing, guilt ridden, sickly white liberal as their self-appointed flag carrier,” said Mr Peters.
